Oracle DBA Los Angeles $55 all inclusive Possible 3 month contract to hire (c-t-h candidates given preference so indicate if available)

Resource must be on site 5 days/week. Major data model and software changes to support large enhancements, optimizing database access to support growth in database capacity and complexity, SQL scripts needed for recovering from errors. Job Responsibilities:
* Implement and maintain Oracle and databases.
* Proactive monitoring and performance tuning of databases.
* Provide DBA support to sales/implementations personnel and customers.
* SQL and PL/SQL scripting and coding of procedures, triggers and packages.
* Provide support and maintenance of existing database code.
* Development, implementation and support of new database code.
* Using ANSI SQL and PL/SQL for tuning and maintenance.
* Responsible for providing day-to-day support and maintenance for key Oracle databases and services of our enterprise application platform.
* Responsible for investigating potential problems and issues raised by business users; this includes being on an on-call rotation and carrying a pager as needed.
* Monitor database events.
* Work with the team to automate reactive procedures where possible, and to promote rapid response to known issues.
* Work with other teams to promote changes to production and other environments.
* Accountable for maintaining databases configurations in compliance with established *best practices*.
* Oversee data fixes for business issues or to address application issues.
